Overcoming Pornography and Healing Betrayal

$19.99

Pornography use affects many couples and there’s a lot of shame wrapped around it. We want to help you and your spouse overcome pornography use in your relationship and heal from the feelings of betrayal. We will share the only research-backed method that actually helps someone reduce or eliminate their pornography use.

This workshop is all about overcoming pornography & healing betrayal.

The content is taught from a Christian perspective but people of all faiths are welcome.

Pornography use affects many couples. In the couples I work with, I’ve seen how its use often interferes with sexual and emotional intimacy. Trust is sometimes violated, leading to hurt feelings and frustration. Some even describe feeling betrayed. The users of pornography often find the urge compulsive and wish they didn’t use it, yet it keeps pulling them back again especially when triggered by emotions such as boredom, jealousy, stress, or anger.

Many people try to overcome pornography with sheer willpower. Although willpower is important, it is often not sufficient. Others try to overcome pornography use with external measures such as “dopamine fasts,” accountability groups and programs and internet filters, only to find that these don’t solve the root of the problem.

Others treat pornography like they would another type of addiction (such as alcohol or illegal drugs), but don’t get results. Hint: pornography rarely shares the same characteristics of addictions from a clinical perspective.

There’s a lot of shame wrapped around pornography use. We hear sermons preached at church about its evil and dangers. People who feel drawn to pornography use are usually supposed to be the “good ones,” making it harder for them to share their struggles and get help from others.

In this workshop we’ll do a deep dive into how to overcome pornography forever. We’ll talk about the three things that most people try that don’t work and why. We’ll then share what actually does work – the only research-backed method that actually helps someone reduce or eliminate their pornography use.

We’ll also be discussing what happens in the relationship dynamic. In this workshop we’ll also talk to those affected by a spouse’s pornography use and give concrete ideas and steps on how to heal from and navigate the difficult emotions surrounding it.

Our guest teacher for this workshop will be Zach and Darcy Spafford. You can find more about their work at zachspafford.com.
