Day 2: Making Sex FUN!
I’m willing to bet that you’d be having more sex if the sex you were having was GREAT for the both of you! Wouldn’t it be awesome if sex was something you genuinely looked forward to because you knew it would be connecting, nourishing, bonding, and also really FUN? I wonder if we take ourselves way too seriously sometimes and forget that sex is the domain of adult play.
So here are just three ideas I want to share with you about how to make sex something you can look forward to:
- Expanding your definition of “sex” to include anything connecting and pleasurable. Sometimes we get ourselves in trouble by thinking about the effort it takes to “get there”, as if there’s some sort of goal or minimum standard to meet. That doesn’t sound fun to me, that sounds like work! So take the work out of sex. When you boil it down to it’s basic ingredients, anything that you do that’s connecting and pleasurable could be considered sex.
Sometimes this will be intercourse. Other times it might be cuddling on the couch, touching each other gently while watching a movie (clothing optional). This could be a great make-out session under the Christmas tree. You get to decide!
- Play bedroom games. Games are fun because they put your mind in an open and playful state, and you’re much more open to connection and pleasure when your mind is open. It helps you disconnect from the pressing concerns of the day and brings you into the moment. The right games may encourage you to get out of your comfort zone a little, and that’s always fun!
Bedroom games help Emily and I set aside our inhibitions and laugh, giggle, and tease each other. The quality of sex is usually better too!
- Unleash your innate creativity. Everybody has a gift, a talent. So put it to good use in the bedroom. Besides, don’t you think your creative endeavors out of the bedroom are fun? Think how fun it could be to put it into the context of the bedroom!
Do you like to paint? Well, make your spouse your canvas for the night. Can you pull off a good Russian accent? Put it to good use as you make love. Are you good with words? Whisper a short & steamy love story into your spouse’s ear as you enjoy each other.
