I’m a big believer in podcasts! I consume most of my information through podcasts while running or commuting. Podcasts are a great way to get exposed to new & great ideas for your marriage! There are many podcasts that cater to people that want to improve their marriage. Many of these podcasters started their podcasts to share their journey and to spread ideas that helped them improve their marriages and intimacy.
Here’s the list of podcasts I’ve come across, and a gist about each podcast. Have one to add? Contact me & let me know about it!
Sexy Marriage Radio – Hosts Dr. Corey Allan, PhD and his wife Pam say “the best sex is in the marriage bed!” They tackle topics driven primarily from listener’s questions about sex and intimacy in marriage. They also feature experts and interviews on their show. Each episode is usually about a half hour long. They’ve been podcasting since 2013 and have quite a treasure trove of information. Dr. Allan is a Christian and approaches the topic of sexuality in marriage with respect, but isn’t afraid to shy away from topics that may push your boundaries. (Dr. Allan is also the co-creator of the Intimately Us app).
Awesome Marriage – Hosts Dr. Kim Kimberling and Christina Dodson are the host of the Awesome Marriage podcast. Dr. Kim is a certified marriage & family therapist and has been married for nearly 50 years. His episodes have a very strong Christian angle, often referring to scriptures in each episode (especially about the one where Adam and Eve were naked in the Garden of Eden and were not ashamed :). His episodes cover a variety of topics, not just intimacy.
ONE Extraordinary Marriage – Tony and Alisa DiLorenzo are the co-authors of the Amazon best seller,
7 Days of Sex Challenge book. They believe that the healthy combination of sex, love, and commitment is more than the foundation of a strong marriage… it’s the glue that will keep a marriage together. A running theme in their podcast is how to work through desire differences and how making sex a priority helps the marriage overall.
Anatomy of Marriage – Seth and Melanie Studley are the co-hosts of the Anatomy of Marriage podcast. Seth is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT). Seth and Melanie went through a period of deep marital challenges a few years into their marriage. The tools and resources and maturity they gained from the experience to form a stronger marriage is the inspiration behind their podcast. This is a great podcast for ideas on how to fight less and understand your spouse better in your relationship. I worked with Melanie and Seth to create the Anatomy of Marriage app too!
On The Brighter Side – Your host for On The Brighter Side is Monica Tanner! Monica is an amazing person with a unique story. Among other things, she’s also one of the post positive people you’ll meet. Her show focuses mostly on marriage, intimacy, health, fitness, parenting, and all things on the brighter side of life. Rather than troubleshooting problems, her podcasts focuses more on enhancing the good that you have.
To Love Honor and Vacuum – Sheila Wray Gregoire and her family are the hosts of this podcast about sex, marriage, parenting, and other topics but mostly about sex & intimacy. A recurring theme about Sheila’s message is that sex is more than just the physical, but represents the total union of body, mind, and spirit in the marriage. She takes a Christian perspective. She talks fast, answers listener’s questions, and has great fresh content every week!
